METECS is an engineering and applied technology company that provides high-fidelity simulation and software development for NASA’s Johnson Space Center. In this position, you will work with our team of engineers supporting our NASA customers to develop, verify, and validate mission simulation software for the International Space Station (ISS) United States Deorbit Vehicle (USDV) spacecraft Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) subsystem. Must have solid software development, integration and testing skills, good team communication skills, initiative and an aptitude for hands-on problem solving and troubleshooting.
Required Qualifications:
At least 4 years of software development, integration and testing experience in a Linux environment.
Good working knowledge of C, C++, Python and shell scripts.
Experience using development tools for source control, unit testing, issue tracking, and continuous integration, such as GitLab, GitHub, JIRA, etc.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Bachelor or Advanced Degree in Computer Science or Engineering (or equivalent experience).
Understanding of orbital dynamics and GNC concepts.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with FORTRAN programming language.
Knowledge of spaceflight communication protocols, data handling, and testing architectures.
Development experience with real-time software.
Simulation development using the NASA Trick simulation environment.
Avionics integration or environment simulation development.
Development experience with the Core Flight Executive (cFE) and Core Flight System (cFS) framework.
Citizenship or lawful permanent resident required due to federal position.
